Video Quilt Diary (1/3)
My video is a quilt diary, a collection of experiences throughout the pandemic. While writing is a lifelong passion and brings relief from neurodivergent disabilities, I could not write in lockdown. Instead, as documented in the video, I unpacked my sewing tools and made fabric collages. I realized the collages were a quilt draft, and I pinned the pieces to the wall tapestry above the bed. The tapestry was a background for remote teaching and the patches accumulated. At the same time, my attention fragmented. After a two-month hiatus, I returned to the quilt at the end of 2020. With a few more revisions, the quilt felt complete and ready to display. But the closure was temporary. Amid the challenges and inspirations of 2021, I still find new pieces to add.
